ABOUT
My name is Dalia Velandia (she/her). I am a mestiza, queer, female dancer, interdisciplinary artist, performer, and choreographer from Colombia, currently based in Berlin. My practice spans multiple disciplines including dance, performance, choreography, domestic handcrafts, and weaving. I have been working with Eggs for five years. “I have black hair cut in a bob, stand 1.63 meters tall, with black eyes and freckles.”

My training in contemporary dance for over 15 years has had a profound impact on both my artistic practice and my relationship with the world.

I completed my education in contemporary dance at the Universidad Distrital (ASAB) in Bogotá in 2015, where I began to shape my understanding of movement and performance for an audience. Working with choreographers Bruno Caverna and Daniela Gómez, and as a member of the Danza Común Company, I engaged with diverse artistic environments, performing at festivals and theaters in Colombia, France, and the Netherlands.
My subsequent studies in contemporary dance at Sozo Visions in Motion (Kassel, Germany), culminating in 2019, expanded my technical and conceptual framework. That year, I also began working as a solo dancer at the Staatstheater Kassel's opera house, an experience that continued into 2020. My time with Tanzwerk Kassel from 2019 to 2023 further deepened my practice and broadened my artistic horizons.
Currently, as I approach the final semester of my Master’s program in Solo / Dance / Authorship (SODA) at the Inter-University Center for Dance / HZT Berlin, Berlin University of the Arts, UdK, I am integrating my past experiences into my current research. My independent projects and performances across Europe and Colombia have been enriched by my ongoing artistic-political education and various collective collaborations. These experiences continue to shape and refine my creative views, driving my exploration of the intersections between body, performance, and socio-political contexts.
